About Me

Hello, I’m Laura and I offer marketing consultancy and hands-on marketing help and support to business across York, North Yorkshire and London. I work with organisations like yours to help to define and tell your story in order for you to achieve your business goals. That may be to project a professional and consistent image for your business, increase your profile in the region or reach and engage new customers.

Testimonials & Featured Clients

Laura has provided communications support on a variety of Relate projects, including launching a new service and writing a consumer report on the state of the nation’s relationships. I’ve been so impressed with her ability to proactively seek out and synthesise complex information, going on to turn it into high quality communications ‘products’. She works methodically to understand target audiences and objectives. She produces tailored content that’s relevant and clear. Laura is great at building relationships and has worked skilfully and flexibly with colleagues across Relate and at partner organisations – thank you Laura for helping to produce great results and build great relationships.

Sarah Milsom

Director of Communications and Engagement, Relate

Laura is professional, focused, hard-working, and really enthusiastic about every project she takes on, whether large or small. She always spends time at the beginning of each project making sure that she has understood the brief correctly, which means that when she delivers the final project it is spot on.

Head of Communications

The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award

I’ve worked with Laura for several years and have been inspired by her professionalism and dedication. She always delivers and goes well beyond the extra mile, every time! She takes a brief incredibly well, engages positively and works hard to understand exactly what is wanted. Consequently she never disappoints. She is great to work with, has a wonderful sense of humour and is comfortable exploring new ideas in marketing and communications. She personifies the ‘can do’ attitude that really gets the job done.

I can recommend her without hesitation – she is the best!

Special Advisor

City & Guilds Foundation

Laura is an expert in marketing and communications and approaches each project with a focused, professional and tailored approach. She has considerably enhanced the communications, content and visuals of our programmes and I would not hesitate to work with Laura again or recommend her to others.

Why marketing deserves a place at the top table

How freelancers can add value to your business

Why going ‘back to normal’ after lockdown feels unacceptable

40 things I’ve learnt over the last 40 years

1. Hangovers don’t get any better with age; 2. Small children don’t like to lie in, regardless of what time you keep them up until; 3. Old friends know you almost as well as you know yourself; 4.
Working 9-5 (or 6 or 7) doesn’t mean you are your most productive self…

Why telling stories is more important than ever

As children we are encouraged to read. To be inquisitive and to want to find out more about things. And sometimes this continues as we grow up. But sometimes, sadly, life gets in the way and we forget how to be inquisitive and interested in other people. We forget how...
